AFC SOUTHGATE GO GOAL CRAZY VERSUS MK GALLACTICOS

AFC Southgate have made an excellent start to their Spartan South Midlands League Division Two campaign losing their first game to Totternhoe but then recording 6-1, 3-2 and 2-1 wins going into this game.

Their visitors, MK Gallacticos, came to Brickfield Lane with a record of two wins, a draw and one loss. They had recorded two good away victories at The 61 FC (2-4) amd Pitstone & Ivinghoe (0-5) in their last two games.

ADEM ALI CELEBRATES ONE OF HIS SIX GOALS

CHINUA PHINN-ARCHER CELEBRATES ONE OF HIS GOALS

It was an afternoon to forget for the visitors, who when I spoke to one of their people, it became apparent they were missing a number of first team regulars - this was indicated in that their goalkeeper was only 16 years old and usually plays out-field along with there only being one substitute on their bench.

AFC Southgate's ex Edgware Town and Cockfoster's forward Adem Ali went into the game in sensational form scoring six in their four games played. It continued today with Ali netting a double hat-trick - the other scorers were midfielder Mariusz Serwin, left-back Lee Flynn and striker/midfielder Chinua Phinn-Archer (2).

Ali has dropped down two levels from the Premier Division to Division Two and has now scored twelve times in five games - He scored fourteen in forty-seven games for Edgware Town last season.

MORE CELEBRATIONS FROM ADEM ALI AND LEE FLYNN

THE MK GALLACTICOS GOALKEEPER CAN HOLD HIS HEAD UP HIGH - HE DIDN'T DESERVE TO LET IN TEN GOALS. A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF CREDIT GOES TO HIM FOR STEPPING UP AND GOING IN GOAL WHEN HE USUALLY PLAYS AS A DEFENDER

LEE FLYNN CELEBRATES HIS GOAL

Massive credit must go to MK Gallacticos who never gave up and played some good football themselves on a great pitch at Hadley's ground where AFC Southgate currently play. Their goal scored in the first half was a decent effort from outside of the box and they could of scored a few more if it wasn't for some wayward finishing.

The pick of the goals form Ali came when he looped the ball with the outside of his foot from outside of box right into the top corner of the net.

 RESPECT THE REFEREE

For the Gallacticos manager Kamal Miah and his squad it's a day to put behind them and to remember they have a decent record so far this season aside from today.

AFC Southgate will go into Monday's home game with Park View in a confident mood - so will Park View who won 7-0 at home to The 61FC today and have won other league games 4-1 and 6-1 as well as drawing their opening game 2-2 with Tring Town. The game kicks off at 3pm at Brickfield Lane (just off of the A1(M) on the opposite side to the big Morrisons supermarket) and should be a very exciting entertaining one. If you are local and looking for a game it's well worth a visit - the club produce a decent programme too.

MK Gallacticos travel to Grendon Rangers on Monday in their next game looking to put things right - Rangers have lost all four of their league games so far but only by narrow margins - 0-2, 1-3, 0-1 and 1-2.

They then host Mursley United on Saturday at their home ground which is The North Furzton Sports Ground before making another long trip to Premier League Cockfosters in the League Challenge Trophy on Tuesday 5th September. Their ground is only a short distance away from "Arena MK" the home of the League One side MK Dons.

A DAY TO FORGET FOR THE COACHING STAFF OF MK GALLACTICOS - THE CLUB WERE FORMED IN 2008 BY SEVEN BROTHERS WHOSE BELIEF AND PHILOSOPHY WAS TO PROMOTE "FRIENDSHIP THROUGH FOOTBALL" REGARDLESS OF ONE'S BACKGROUND, RELIGIOUS BELIEF AND SOCIAL STATUS. A GREAT SLOGAN WHICH THE CLUB STILL ADHERES TO IN 2017.

BOTH AFC SOUTHGATE AND MK GALLACTICOS HAVE BRILLIANT YOUTH FOOTBALL SECTIONS AND THEIR ORIGINS LIE DEEPLY IN THE LOCAL GRASS ROOTS GAME WHICH IS FANTASTIC TO SEE. THE GALLACTICOS HAVE HAD A NUMBER OF PLAYERS AGED 16 MAKE THEIR DEBUTS FOR THE CLUB THIS SEASON - IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOUNG PEOPLE BEING GIVEN A CHANCE.

THEY HAVE ALSO RECENTLY LAUNCHED AN ACADEMY PROJECT IN JAGANATHPUR, BANGLADESH WITH CHILDREN AND ADULTS TRAINING EACH WEEK AND PLAYING IN LOCAL LEAGUES.

GOOD LUCK TO BOTH SIDES FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!
