LOCAL DERBY DEFEAT SENDS TOWN OUT OF FA YOUTH CUP

The youth side's of Enfield 1893 and Enfield Town faced off in an ultra local derby in the FA Youth Cup 1st Qualifying Round on Thursday night. It was 1893 who squeezed through with the final score being 2-1. The home side scored either side of half time with their first goal being a really well taken one by Suleyman Zuhdu with Hallelujah Basmel making it 2-0 after the break.

Town's young players dug deep but were unable to get a goal back until right on 90 minutes with the final whistle going shortly after. Had Town got the goal on 80 minutes it may of been a different story!!

1893's side is in fact the youth side of Chingford based Ryan FC after the two club's agreed a deal/link so Ryan FC could represent 1893 in the Youth Cup. Therefore, many of 1893's side were made up of last season's very successful Ryan FC under 17 side who won the London Cup against Barking u17's. Jermaine Osei played in that final and has since gone on to put in some very impressive performances for 1893's first team in the Essex Senior League.

1893 travel to Wealdstone in the next round.
