A VERY FORGETTABLE FINAL FOR THE TOWNERS

THE TOWN FAITHFUL BEHIND THE GOAL DURING THE FIRST HALF

NORTHWOOD FANS BEHIND THEIR GOAL IN THE FIRST HALF
It was a Middlesex Senior Cup Final to forget for Enfield Town this afternoon as Northwood deservedly won 0-2 to lift the famous trophy for a second time in their history. There were several talking points in the game - Firstly was Town taking to the field in Uxbridge's red kit following a mix up between the two clubs - Northwood were officially the 'home' club but chose to wear their yellow and black away kit which clashed with Town's yellow shirts so some kit was borrowed from the host club - some sections of the Town faithful complained their was a second kit clash between the referee and Northwood's kit - see below picutre.

Secondly was Corey Whitely's red card in the first half for a challenge in front of the main stand - I'm sure the replay from the official cameraman will show if (or not??) it was the correct decision from the referee in due course.

KIT CLASH - REFEREE AND NORTHWOOD?

Northwood won with a well taken far post header from George Nicholas on 44 minutes following a brilliant cross from Andy Lomas and in the 88th minute when Niko Muir struck with a good shot from the edge of the box. Town's performance seemed to be one game too many for the season as they rarely troubled Northwood's ex Hendon keeper Berkley Laurencin.

What I will say is that many clubs are trying to promote the game as family friendly looking to attract familes to games - some people need to think before they shout things out and sing songs with foul language in them directly in earshot of impressionable youngsters.

Congratulations to Northwood manager Mark Burgess and his squad on their fantastic result.

TOWN PLAYERS THANK THE TRAVELLING FANS AFTER THE GAME - BRADLEY QUINTON'S BLUE AND WHITE ARMY WILL BE BACK FOR THE 2016/17 CAMPAIGN
