GOALS GALORE IN LOCAL DERBY CUP MATCH BETWEEN LANGFORD & ARLESEY TOWN RESERVES

Just over four miles seperate the home grounds of Langford and Arlesey Town so Wednesday was a real local derby game when The Reds visited the reserve side of Arlesey Town in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One Cup. A crowd of 42 people witnessed eight goals scored with the match ending 3-5 to Langford. The away side deserved the victory as on chances created the final score could of been about 5-10 as you'll see from the highlights below. They are well worth a watch!

Langford have another local derby on Saturday when they host Baldock Town at Forde Park in the FA Vase. Arlesey Town Reserves get their chance to gain some revenge when they host Langford again next Wednesday evening in a league game subject to the FA Vase result.

The two players that stood out for me were Langford's keeper Ross Tomkins made two excellent saves to keep Arlesey's score down to just one goal in the first half and their centre forward Pat Daly who returned to the club he spent the 2014/15 campaign with over the summer. He scored an amazing 51 goals in 38 games for Division Two side Kent Athletic last season  - he looks a great player and will score many goals along with making many for Langford this season.

This was the first time Langford have scored five goals in a game since Saturday 3rd October 2015 when they beat Marston Shelton Rovers 5-0 in the Bedfordshire Senior Trophy.
