THE ANGELS RETURN TO KENT WITH THREE WELL DESERVED POINTS

Both sides and the crowd present immaculatly observed a minute's silence in memory of Junior Dian and Town supporter Kathy Harrison.
Tom Parkinson's late goal for Tonbridge Angels earned them a well deserved 0-1 victory at Enfield Town. The Kent side had a lot of possession throughout the game and the best chances so there can be no arguments at the result.

Two ex Gillingham player's stood out for them as left back Jack Parter (signed from Division One South side Whitstable Town over the summer) and right winger/midfielder Charlie Webster put in very impressive performances. Parter was energetic throughout the game going up and down the left side of the pitch and looks a very good singing for Steve McKimm's side.

Webster was involved in the build-up to their goal when Tom Parkinson headed home from a right wing cross on 88 minutes. The returning Nathan McDonald (in goal for Town) had made a couple of good saves to keep his team in the game and one effort in the first half had been cleared off the line.

The highly experienced central defensive partnership of Sonny Miles and Jerome Sobers performed well for the away side with Miles in particular winning almost every header he needed to.

The Towner's did have a number of chances with Samir Bihmoutine's effort grazing the bar and substitute Alex Cathline causing a few more problems for the away side's back line in the second half.

Manager Bradley Quinton spoke to his team after in front of the Town faithful and he stated he knew his players were better than the performance they had put in - and to go again on Monday evening in the local derby at Hendon.

Town had Micky Parcell, Samir Bihmoutine, Jack Hutchings, Jandir Da Cruz and Olumide Durojaiye making debuts so it's going to take a little bit of time for the players to gell as a team in proper league games.

Although early days I think on the Angel's performance today and the quality of the players they have brought they are going to finish alot higher than they did last season.

ELSEWHERE IN THE RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION

Dulwich Hamlet and Leatherhead are leader's in the first table of the year thanks to 3-0 home wins over Canvey Island and Lewes. Hamlet's goals came from Damien Scannell (2) and Ethan Pinnock. The Tanners scorers were Kiernan Hughes-Mason, Vasieleious Karagiannis and Mark Nwokeji.

There was seven goal thriller at Nyewood Lane as Bognor Regis won 4-3 against Division One (South) play-off winner's Mertsham. Jason Prior proved why he is one of the front runners for the division's golden boot prize with a opening day hat-trick.

Leiston's 2-1 home win over Kingstonian was another stand out result. I think Leiston will be well up towards the top end of the division. Darren Mills and new signing from Wroxham Christy Finch scored the goals.

In the game between Wingate and Finchley and Brentwood Town there were three goals scored all by ex Enfield Town players. Billy Healy (who has made the step up from Hanwell Town over the summer) scored a brace on his debut for Wingate with Liam Hope scoring for Dean Holdsworth's side in a 2-1 result.
