FA CUP CLASSIC AT DONKEY LANE

There is little more to say than the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round tie between Enfield Town and Eastbourne Borough was a classic match that will live long in the memory for all who played in it and all who witnessed all the drama unfold over 90 minutes plus an extra 30 minutes extra time and the resulting kicks from the penalty mark. You will find it extremely hard to find another cup game this season that will be much better. It was a marvellous advert for football at non-league level.

Enfield Town were very unlucky not to go through against their higher division opponents who eventually won 3-4 on spot kicks. Town boss Bradley Quinton can take a huge amount of positives from the events especially the fact that arguably Town were the better side over the two games played.

An Enfield Town fan of many years summed up proceedings in a succinct manner after the game by writing "Football. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it destroys a piece of your soul. Occasionally, like tonight, it fluctuates repeatedly between the two..."

"THE EASTBOURNE FOUR" - BOROUGH'S NOISY LOYAL FANS CELEBRATE AFTER THEIR FIRST GOAL
As an Enfield Town I am extremely proud of my team's performance last night. The journey home by the small number of loyal Eastbourne fans who made the long midweek trip up from the south coast would of been all the more enjoyable following their victory after a highly entertaining evening. It was one of those games where neither team deserved to lose but ultimately one had too. The Cold End wishes Easbourne Borough all the best in their third qualifying round tie at Kingstonian and for the rest of their Vanarama South season. They host Staines Town at home on Saturday before travelling to Ebbsfleet United next Tuesday before the big cup game at Kingsmeadow on Saturday 11th October.

Enfield Town host Grays Athletic on Saturday and have a home Ryman League Cup game against Harrow Borough next Tuesday evening.

The Cold End match highlights are below -

As a bonus we also have highlights from behind the goal with the @etfc_ultras by @muzzyboii which includes a quick word with Bradley Quinton after the game -
