THE RACE FOR FIFTH PLACE IN RYMAN DIVISION ONE (SOUTH)

POS TEAM P GD PTS PP
5 CORINTHIAN CASUALS  45 +22 82 85
6 HASTINGS UNITED
45 +36 81 84
7 FAVERSHAM TOWN  45 +27 80 83

Folkestone Invicta wrapped up the Division One (South) Championship a few weeks ago. Dorking Wanderers, Hythe Town and Worthing have all qualified for the play-offs with The Wanderers able to guarantee runner's up spot with a victory at home to Guernsey tonight (mathematically it would still be possible for Hythe Town to get to second spot but they would have to overhaul a goal difference of 14 goals even before Dorking's game tonight).

Three teams can still finish in fifth place - Corinthian Casuals are at home to fourteenth placed Three Bridges, Hastings United entertain ninth placed Herne Bay and Faversham Town are also at home to Hythe Town - who as stated above have already qualified for the play-offs.

For Corinthian Casuals a win would see them qualify for the play-offs for the first time in their illustrious history and their highest placed finish since 1959/60 when they finished fifth in the Isthmian League.

Hastings United are looking to get back into the Premier Division they were relegated from in 2013. They qualified for the play-offs in 2013/14 but were knocked out by Folkestone Invicta at the semi-final stage. Last season they finished in 19th position.

Faversham Town have been knocking on the door of promotion since joining Division One (South) from the Kent Premier League in 2010. 2012/13 saw them finish 3rd and lose the play-off final to Maidstone United and last season they finished 3rd again losing on penalties (5-4) to Mertsham after a 0-0 draw in the play off semi-final.

At the other end of the table the bottom three are confirmed as Whitstable Town (24th), Peacehaven and Telscombe (23rd) and Walton & Hersham (22nd) - If or not all three teams are relegated will be confirmed over the next few months. If Walton and Hersham do go down they will leave the Isthmian League after being members since 1971/72. Their highest placed finished came in 1972/73 when they were runner's up to Hendon.

WHO WILL JOIN DORKING WANDERERS, HYTHE TOWN & WORTHING IN THE PLAY-OFFS?
