COMBINED COUNTIES PREMIER DIVISION - UPDATE

The Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League is now well under way with Guernsey, Egham Town, Badshot Lea and South Park currently occupying the top four places in the Premier Division.

Guernsey FC, runaway Division One champions last season, have begun their campaign where they left off with seven wins in eight league games scoring 34 goals along the way. The question being can any team stop The Green Lions on their march up the football pyramid?? They have posted crowds of 1185, 954, 1026 and 1055 in their four games (in league and Vase) at their Footes Lane stadium so far this season.

They are currently top on goal difference to Egham Town (fourth place last season) but have two games in hand over them so in effect could be six points ahead with two wins. What may Egham's downfall is that two of their three defeats so far have come against Guernsey and South Park. They lost at Farnham Town (2-1) on Saturday who are currently unbeaten in four league games.

FA Cup heroes Badshot Lea and South Park follow in third and fourth places. Both clubs have a game in hand over Guernsey so could go level on points with a win.

Badshot (known as The Baggies) have beaten Mole Valley SCR, Folkestone Invicta and Leiston in the FA Cup so far. They travel to Southern League Premier Division Chippenham Town in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

South Park recorded a replay victory over Harefield United on Tuesday night and now play Ryman Division One (North) Brentwood Town at home in the 3rd Qualifying Round.

With their goal scoring power, support and backing any team who finish above Guernsey will have had an amazing season. For TheColdEnd it's The Green Lions who will finish top although I'm sure the other teams involved will want to prove me wrong.
