Egham Town, currently in second place, are rated as favourites by the bookmakers for the Evo Stik Southern League Division One (Central) title. The Sarnies have two games in hand over their nearest rivals currently in first and third positions. They have the best defence in the division conceding just 25 goals in 31 games played compared to 38 in 33 (Kings Langley) and 37 in 33 (AFC Rushden & Diamonds).

The Diamonds looked in with a real change for the title but three defeats in their last eight games - away against Potters Bar Town (0-1), Beaconsfield SYCOB (0-4) and, what could be crucially, at home to Kings Langley (0-1).

Kings Langley are unbeaten in nine games with their last defeat (another crucial game!) being at Egham Town on Tuesday 12th January 0-1. The below shows the record of the top three when they have played each other and it shows the last game between the them is Egham Town v AFC Rushden and Diamonds which is scheduled for the last but one Saturday of the season - Could this be the title decider?

TOP THREE v TOP THREE TABLE

KINGS LANGLEY 4 2 1 1 43 7
AFC RUSHDEN & DIAMONDS 3 0 1 2 1 3 1
EGHAM TOWN 3 2 0 1 4 1 6

This coming weekend sees a pivotal round of fixtures when Kings Langley face sixth placed Aylesbury, Egham Town travel to seventh placed Northwood and AFC Rushden and Diamonds go to fourth placed Royston Town.

The division's top scorer's are currently Anthony Mendy of Chalfont St Peter, Kieran Bishop of Ware and Mitchel Weiss of Kings Langley on 23 goals each. They are followed next by Chalfont St Peter's Michael Murray on 15 goals.

  1. I think the "deciders" will be the two games between Egham and Royston in April, which could well determine who makes the play offs or the title. Also AFC Rushden have yet to play at both Royston and Egham.
