The race for the title and play-offs in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division One (Central) is shaping up to be an exciting one with just four point separating the current top ten. Favourites for the title have to be current fifth placed AFC Rushden & Diamonds who have four and three games in hand over the teams above them. They are also unbeaten in their league games so it's no surprise that betvictor.com currently rate them at 4/6 favourites for the title although value could maybe be found in Royston Town at 5/1 or four teams at 10/1 (Chalfont St Peter, Egham Town, St Ives Town or Aylesbury) or Ware who are rated at 40/1. The other teams in the current top ten are rated at 12/1 (Kings Langley), Northwood and Beaconsfield SYCOB at 20/1.The Diamonds form makes even better reading when you see that they have a 100% winning record over their last eight league games played.

Looking at the table Chalfont St Peter achieved 2.33 points per game in their first 9 games but over the last 6 they only have an average of 1.17ppg. Egham Town are the opposite with 1.5ppg in their opening 8 games which they have upped to 2.50 ppg over their last 6 games.

Down at the bottom of the table the bottom four are Fleet Town, Leighton Town, Aylesbury United and North Greenford United. Arlesey Town were struggling too with two wins in their opening twelve games - They have moved upwards towards mid-table with three wins in three recently and they could make it four in four with a home game against struggling Fleet Town coming up.

KEY FIXTURES OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS

SATURDAY 14th NOVEMBER
AYLESBURY FC v NORTHWOOD
Sixth v Tenth - Both sides will be keen to record a victory to stay in touch with the teams in the top five
EGHAM TOWN v BEACONSFIELD SYCOB
Fourth v Eigth - Another game both teams will not want to lose
GODALMING TOWN v AFC RUSHDEN & DIAMONDS
Town are down in 17th place in the league so Diamonds will be massive favourites to win this one. However, two of the three home victories Godalming have recorded have come against Beaconsfield SYCOB (8th) and Royston Town (2nd)

SATURDAY 21st NOVEMBER
AFC RUSHDEN & DIAMONDS v BEACONSFIELD SYCOB
Will Rushden be still unbeaten when SYCOB visit?
KINGS LANGLEY v WARE
Ware have recently parted company with manager Kem Kemal but the club have moved quickly to replace him with ex professional player Ken Charlery - This game will be his second in charge and is a tricky trip to Gaywood Park where Kings Langley are having a brilliant debut season at Step Four of the non-league ladder
NORTHWOOD v CHALFONT ST PETER
Another game involving two of teams who could challenge Rushden at the top of the table.

SATURDAY 28th NOVEMBER
EGHAM TOWN v AYLESBURY FC
The Sarnies have had new manager Gary Meakin (ex of Beaconsfield SYCOB, Hillingdon Borough, Burnham, Northwood and Wingate & Finchley boss) in place since early September. Meakin's side are strong at home with a current record of 5 wins and 2 defeats with The Moles best form coming at home so far. They currently have a points per game at home of 2.43 compared to 1.25 on their travels. They will need to improve their away form should they want to challenge at top of the table.
ST IVES TOWN v KINGS LANGLEY
Yet another game featuring two teams who could be potential title challengers.
