WEALDSTONE GET ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEAT A CONFERENCE SOUTH RECORD

Fifteenth placed Wealdstone were 3-0 down against ninth placed Hemel Hempstead Town at half time last night when the referee called the game off due to a frozen pitch being unplayable. It was a blessing in disguise for Gordon Barlett's side in more ways than one as a win or draw would of been a new record for an unbeaten run in the Conference South division. The Stones, after having a difficult start to their season at step 2 where their lost five and drew four of their opening nine games, are on an unbeaten run of eleven games and have lost just three of their last eighteen league games. Their last league defeat came on Saturday 8th November 2014 when table topper's Boreham Wood scored two late goals to record a valuable 2-1 win - it had been 0-1 up until the 86 minute mark.

The Stone's get a chance to be record breakers on Saturday when they entertain Weston-Super-Mare at Grosvenor Vale. The Somerset side have won four of their twelve away league games with two of those coming in their last three trips against Ebbsfleet United and Hayes & Yeading United.

LOWESTOFT HOLDING THEIR OWN IN THE CONFERENCE NORTH

Lowestoft Town, the other promoted side from the Ryman Premier division last season, are currently in thirteenth place in the Vanarama Conference North. They have won nine of the twenty-nine league games they have played so far and welcome Colwyn Bay to Crown Meadow on Saturday (which is just a 600 mile round trip for the Welsh side!!!)

The Trawlerboys last three games have been a 3-0 home win versus Hyde, a 2-3 away success at Brackley Town and a defeat at Gloucester City (0-2). They are seven points above the drop zone so will need to pick some wins to keep a safe distance away from the bottom three.
