Looking at the current table most people will think the race for the title down to just two teams being Ampthill Town and Hanwell Town. I'm sure the players, fans and management of these two clubs are not getting carried away just yet with lots of football to play. Should Hanwell Town win the five games they have in hand over Ampthill they will go three points above on a total of forty-six.

CHAMPIONS??  AMPTHILL TOWN OR HANWELL TOWN??
The best placed team to challenge the top two are fifth placed Berkhamsted who could get to a points total of forty-three if they win the six games in hand they have over Ampthill. Eighth placed Tring Athletic also have six games in hand over the table toppers but have probably drawn too many games (five of eleven played) to get involved in the race for promotion.

RANDOM FACTS AND STATS ABOUT THE SEASON SO FAR

* The average win % gained in order to win the title over the last six years is 73.69%. Only Ampthill Town (82.35%), Hanwell Town (83.33%) and Berkhamsted (72.73%) are above or close to this figure this season so far.

* Seventh placed London Colney seems to be the place to see goals with an average of 4.93 per game.

* Hanwell Town have the highest win %, the most clean sheets and the best goals conceded and score per game record so far.

* Ampthill's two defeats came on the opening day of the season against St Margaretsbury (0-1 at home) and on Saturday 24th August at Berkhamsted (2-1).

* Hanwell Town's only defeat came at London Colney on Saturday 14th September (2-1).

* Both side's have drawn once being against each other at Ampthill on Saturday 28th September in a 0-0 stalemate.

* Colney Heath, Ampthill Town and Tring Athletic are the only three sides in the top nine to be unbeaten in the last six league games.

* Colney Heath, Tring Athletic and Harefield United are the only sides who have scored in every game they have played so far.

* The biggest crowd of the season so far was on Saturday 10th August when Hertford Town v Hatfield Town local derby drew in 148 fans. Leverstock Green v Oxhey Jets on Saturday 14th September drew the smallest crowd so far when only 12 people watched the Jets 1-3 victory.

At the bottom of the table it's been a nightmare for Leverstock Green who have just one victory and fourteen defeats in their fifteen games played. The only win they have recorded came against second bottom London Lions on the opening day of the season! In their last two games Levvy have lost 10-0 and 8-3 against Hanwell Town and London Colney. Tonight they travel to fifth placed Berkhamsted so it could be another long 90 minutes for them.

London Lions, who walked away with the Division One title last season, lost a large part of that team over the summer and have been struggling since. Their manager Tony Gold, who had been in the hot-seat for five years, left the club after the 7-0 defeat to London Colney in the Dudley Lathom Premier Division Cup. Andy Landesberg has taken over and has the task of getting the Lions roaring again to climb up the table and out of the bottom two.
