CAPERSHOTTS PITCH PROBLEMS

Waltham Abbey's Capershott's pitch is probably the worst effected locally over the last few months of wet and snowy weather. The Abbotts have not played a home game since Tuesday 18th December when AFC Sudbury recorded a 0-2 victory in the Ryman League Division One (North).

This Hertfordshire Mercury article explains the situation the club are in and how frustrated boss Paul Wickenden is. They have recorded an excellent 2-1 'home' victory over Southend United in the Essex Senior Cup Quarter Final last Thursday in a game which was played at Great Wakering Rovers.

Their next scheduled home game comes on Saturday 23rd February when Harlow Town are due to visit. Before that, weather permitting, they go to Waltham Forest on Wednesday, AFC Sudbury on Saturday and then Witham Town next Tuesday.

Their tenants, Eton Manor of the Essex Senior League, haven't been able to get a home game completed since Saturday 17th November with their League Cup Quarter Final game first leg switched to Bowers and Pitsea's Len Salmon Stadium last week. Eton Manor are scheduled to face Barkingside this Saturday.

Abbey face AFC Hornchurch in the Essex Senior Cup Semi-Final with the winners facing Grays Athletic in the final. Should they win this game it'll be the first time in their history they play in the final.
